As a Professional Farriers we provide a comprehensive service using a wide variety of shoes and techniques allowing us to care for the modern horse in the environment it is used.  Today's Farriery requires the use of a wide variety of materials in the fabrication of shoes.  Things have progressed incredibly allowing us to use plastics, glues and other non-metal products to make shoes.

Below are conventional shoes and their prices.  These are steel shoes and aluminium racing plates.  Variations on clip position on some shoes may differ.  Shoes are clipped as follows;

Front shoes are used with both 'toe clips' and 'side clips' depending on the foot and the work being done by the horse.  The 'side clipped' front shoe often gets mistaken by clients as a 'hind shoe on a front foot'.  The position of a 'side clip' is one nail hole further back than the 'quarter clip' on a hind shoe.  Please see the pictures below

Hind shoes are used primarily with 'quarter clips'.  A 'toe clip on a hind shoe is usually used on two types of horse.  Driving horses as they use their hind legs as a brake to stop the cart it is pulling.  The toe clip stops the shoe from being spread.  The other being race horses.  This is to try and stop any possible brushing causing limb damage due to the speed they are required to sustain.  The 'toe clip' on an aluminium and steel racing plates allows the shoe, usually the inside branch, to be fitted slightly underneath the foot.  This means that if the horse was to strike itself then it would be 'hoof' and not 'shoe' striking the other limb thus reducing the chance of injury to the horse.
